Truth and Beauty in Design
Beauty in design can be explained and received in different ways. What someone believes to be beautiful may not be to others. “I can see beauty where others see ugliness. That either makes me an artist, or a person of very poor taste.” anonymous. I believe that designers do have a different response to art, buildings and various other products. How do designers portray beauty to an audience? A lot of people believe that something has to be aesthetically pleasing to be beautiful. But then on the other came to architecture all you needed was function and there was no need to beautify it with hand there is the saying ‘form follows function’ Louis Sullivan. He believed that when it ornaments. I disagree; I believe there has to be a good balance between the two to make something truly beautiful. “When I am working on a problem I never think about beauty. I only think about how to solve the problem. But when I have finished, if the solution is not beautiful, I know it is wrong.”
Buckminster Fuller.
